How much should I tip hotel staff?

Answered By Hailee Quincey, Editor

A tip, others prefer to call it gratuity, is a payment given to a hotel staff (or other service sector) in addition to the advertised fee or bill. It's all a matter of 'social custom.' There are no written rules or regulations in giving a tip, people usually give a tip to insure promptness of services. For a hotel staff, it's quite 'stingy' not to give a tip at all, giving a small tip on the other hand are considered by others worse than not giving at all. It entirely depends on you... and on your budget as well.
